At Turris, we're always looking for ways to provide our users with the latest technology, and we're excited to announce our latest upgrade: Turris Omnia 5G Kit! This new kit allows you to enable 5G features on your existing Turris Omnia router to bring faster connections and improved connectivity to your home or office network.
What's included in the 5G Kit?
The Turris Omnia 5G Kit contains everything you need to connect your Turris Omnia router to your 5G network. It includes:
(4) pigtails of various lengths
(4) 5G antennas
cooler
mPCIe to M.2 adapter
metal riser
5G modem Quectel RM500U-EA
New top cover with additional antenna holes
All you'll still need is a SIM card from your favorite telecom carrier.
Supported devices
The 5G Kit is compatible with all Turris Omnia models released between 2016 and 2020, as well as the Turris Omnia No Wi-Fi and Turris Omnia 4G versions.
Please note that due to the number of antennas, this kit is not officially supported on the Turris Omnia Wi-Fi 6.
Important installation information
Upgrading to 5G requires some hardware installation, which involves connecting various components inside your router. While it does require some manual dexterity, we believe that most of our community members who enjoy playing with technology will be up to the challenge. Detailed installation instructions will be provided to guide you through the entire process.
