Pirelli introduces the new generation P ZERO Race TLR by further improving one of its best-selling models on the market. Through a new design solution, they have worked on one of the most important parameters when it comes to cycling tyres: rolling resistance. The new SPEEDCore construction is a thin air-tight layer of rubber compound with aramid particles that covers the inner part of the tire. The greater elasticity of the rubber compound makes the tire faster and more flexible, while the presence of aramid allows for better puncture resistance. The carcass is complemented by 120tpi nylon fabric and an aramid puncture protection strip, while Pirelli maintains the latest SmartEVO rubber compound in the tread to deliver the highest performance. All the special features of the new P ZERO Race TLR are expertly crafted in Italy to deliver unparalleled quality and superior performance.

SmartEVO rubber compound

The latest generation of smart polymer compound to achieve maximum grip with low rolling resistance.

The new SmartEVO rubber compound uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each providing specific performance qualities to achieve an optimum balance of opposing properties such as grip and rolling resistance. Pirelli has used its knowledge and experience of over 100 years in the development of rubber compounds for motorsport, where these products have always been used in top level racing in all disciplines. This extensive knowledge from the development and racing departments has enabled Pirelli to create a triple polymer compound with "smart" performance properties for bicycle tyres and forms the basis for the outstanding characteristics of the SmartEVO compound - improved dry and wet grip, while at the same time reducing rolling resistance. Pirelli has created a performance rubber compound designed and tuned for all modern road cycling disciplines, from local or World Tour races to epic adventures where the climate and varied surfaces demand tyres that perform reliably at the highest level in all circumstances.



SPEEDCore

High-tech tubeless-ready (TLR) 120 tpi shell construction with aramid inner layer and aramid protective strip.

Pirelli's most powerful tubeless-ready road tire construction with a unique design that adds a rubber layer with aramid to the carcass. Compared to bead-to-bead aramid construction, this new structure adds strength and support to the tire carcass but retains a flexible feel for minimal rolling resistance and maximum grip. SPEEDCore is a new patented technology that is exclusive to the use of the new P ZERO Race TLR tire. SPEEDCore is the choice of World Tour factory teams.
