Sencor SWS CO2 PRO

CO2 (carbon dioxide) is a colourless, odourless gas that occurs naturally in the Earth's atmosphere. It is produced by the respiration of organisms, the combustion of fossil fuels and the decomposition of organic matter. It is most commonly measured in units of ppm (parts per million).
The normal outdoor concentration of CO2 is about 400 to 420 ppm. However, these values are hardly reached indoors and therefore the CO2 concentration needs to be monitored.

When the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air is elevated, people experience various physical and mental symptoms that increase with concentration.
So what is the correct concentration of CO2 in a building? A value of 400-1000 ppm is the recommended indoor CO2 level.
Above this level, one may already experience fatigue, drowsiness and reduced concentration. At levels above 2000 ppm, headaches, palpitations, confusion or dizziness may occur. (Very high CO2 concentrations (15,000-40,000 ppm) are critical and lead to loss of consciousness and death.)

So how to keep the air fresh and the CO2 concentration low at home?
Ventilate regularly. Short intensive ventilation is best. Ideally 5-10 minutes every 3-4 hours. Open the windows wide to allow the air to change quickly. If you can, ventilate with a draft.
Do not overheat. Too high a temperature (above 24 °C) increases the oxygen consumption and thus the CO# concentration. 18-22 °C is ideal - you will feel better and the air will stay fresh.
Use a hood and exhaust. Cooking, showering or using gas appliances produces CO2 and moisture. Extractor hoods and extractor fans will help get the air out quickly.
